Singing and playing together

Learning to appreciate rhythm, tune and song

Much of the music teaching at The Dominie is done through using rhythm and singing games which are fun, inclusive and lend themselves well to diverse ability levels. Musical games encourage kinaesthetic learning through simultaneous sound and movement; develop important thinking skills including memory, sequencing and concentration; develop physical skills such as motor skills and coordination; encourage friendships through interaction and turn-taking and develop deeper listening and inner hearing skills.

Children learn to perform to each other in class, and we also have huge fun learning class and whole school songs for the Christmas play and Open Day performances.
